He began teaching English Language Arts in 2011 at Homedale Middle School where he also served as a part-time counselor. In 2010, he transitioned to Skyview High School where he taught Spanish. He started his career at Vallivue High School as an English Language teacher in 2009. Kiester is currently the Associate Principal at South Hills Middle School School, a role he has held since 2021.
